Wellabe Product and Contracting Updates Effective in October
Beginning October 1, 2026, Wellabe will update product availability in several states. These changes include new opportunities for agents, an enhanced product offering, and an important Medicare Supplement update.
Critical Illness: CHAS Insurance
Wellabe’s Critical Illness: Cancer, Heart Attack and Stroke Insurance will become available in Indiana. This addition gives agents another way to help clients prepare for the financial impact of a serious diagnosis.
Hospital Indemnity Insurance
- Virginia: Wellabe will transition to its enhanced Hospital Indemnity product, giving agents access to expanded base benefits and additional rider options.
- New Hampshire: Wellabe’s Hospital Indemnity product will become available in the state for the first time, allowing agents to offer coverage designed to help fill gaps left by a client’s primary medical plan.
Indiana Medicare Supplement Update
Wellabe has made the decision to exit the Indiana Medicare Supplement market. This change does not affect any other Wellabe products available in the state.
Existing Medicare Supplement plans will continue to be offered through October 18, 2026. Current policyholders may remain on their existing plans, and their coverage will not be terminated as long as premiums continue to be paid.
Contracting Blackout Begins October 1
Wellabe will implement a temporary health agent contracting blackout from October 1 through December 7, 2026.
During this period:
- New agent onboarding will be paused
- Agent transfers will be paused
- State appointments will not be affected
- Contracting activities will resume on December 8, 2026
