Medicare Supplement changes in Indiana
Wellabe has announced that it will exit the Indiana Medicare Supplement market. While this change affects new Medicare Supplement business in the state, it does not affect other Wellabe products available in Indiana or terminate coverage for current Medicare Supplement policyholders.

What Is Changing?
Wellabe will stop offering Medicare Supplement plans in Indiana after October 18, 2026.
Agents may continue offering available Wellabe Medicare Supplement plans in Indiana through that date. After October 18, new Wellabe Medicare Supplement business will no longer be available in the state.
This decision applies only to Wellabe’s Medicare Supplement product in Indiana. It does not affect the carrier’s other insurance products offered within the state.
What Happens to Existing Policyholders?
Current Wellabe Medicare Supplement policyholders in Indiana can remain enrolled in their existing plans.
Their coverage will not be terminated because Wellabe is exiting the state’s Medicare Supplement market. Policies can remain active as long as policyholders continue to pay their required premiums and otherwise satisfy the terms of their coverage.
Agents should reassure existing clients that:
- Their current Wellabe Medicare Supplement plan is not automatically ending.
- They do not need to change coverage solely because Wellabe is discontinuing new Medicare Supplement sales in Indiana.
- Their coverage can continue as long as premiums are paid.
- They should continue reviewing all official policy notices and communications from Wellabe.

Although Wellabe is exiting the Indiana Medicare Supplement market, agents can continue helping clients address potential gaps in their coverage through the carrier’s ancillary solutions.
Available products include:
- Hospital Indemnity insurance
- Dental insurance
- Short-term Care insurance
- Critical Illness: Cancer, Heart Attack and Stroke insurance, beginning October 1, 2026
These products can help agents broaden conversations beyond a client’s primary Medicare coverage and identify additional risks that may not be fully addressed by their current health plan.
