This is just a friendly reminder of the CMS 2024 Final Rule below, which implies that starting tomorrow, March 28th, the 48-hour Scope of Appointment rule is waived the last 4 days of OEP (3/28-3/31). You still need to collect SOA’s for each client during this time period, you just do not have to wait 48 hours to talk with the beneficiary and enroll them into a plan.
- After the completion of a SOA, there is a 48-hour waiting period for holding a personal marketing appointment.
- The two exceptions are for (1) SOAs completed during the last 4 days of a valid election period and (2) unscheduled in-person visits (walk-ins) initiated by the beneficiary.
